Someone Up There Got Mad, or Something

Journal Entry: Fri Jan 25, 2008, 5:29 AM
Hi all.

My apologies for this project stalling as it has.

The reasons are several and are as follows:

1/ I found it really hard to chase people up for translations over the Holiday period.

2/ My old hard drive died, and with it all my lists.

3/ Personal considerations have meant I have not had the time or energy to get back in and fix the breaks in the chains with no lists etc.

4/ I am doing a bajillion other things, which have also needed my attention.

BUT - I should be able to get this underway again, a bit late. Needless to say I will NOT be running this project over the Holidays again. = P

I am also looking for permanent staff. This is hard work, and requires dedication and time. But it's also very rewarding. The ability to be organised and post news articles, etc, plus fluency in English is required.

I am very sad this seems to have died completely. I was looking forward to getting a little language practice in. I hope the club will get back on its feet again.

Wow! You really are a brilliant poet, aren't you?

Why don't you join the poetry contest from [link] ?

It's free and every nitwit such as myself who enters gets a small gift

but someone like you might win one of their $10 000 or $100 000 prizes.

this is so cool! Maybe I'll learn enough Russian to participate one day. For now I'll just watch (:

I sent a note asking to join the chain, but I never got a reply. I can do French and English and my Spanish isn't flawless, but it's alright.

Wow, thanks so much, and glad you enjoyed it. Funnily enough, I don't speak any language but English myself, but I really enjoy being a part of this. :)

Stunning! I absolutely adore all of this. I wish I knew another language (enough) to participate...
Thank you for enlightening us.

Ooh, this looks interesting. I'll have to come back and have a look on your already translated poems, and maybe I'll join the project too :D

what a great idea!

you might wanna check this out - I have been translating Japanese poems, and slowly putting them up. I have only one up, but in the next little while I will get more up. You might be interested in the way I do the translation, as a story, rather than a straight translation. The poem is never finished being transalted, only abandoned on the way to meaning.

Anyway - I love this idea. Here's the link to the poem:

Just send us a note, listing what languages you could best translate from or to. :)

And thankyou!
